About Us

We take pride in our work, and we try to have as much fun as possible while we’re doing it! Doug realizes that mistakes are costly. If something unexpected happens, he endeavors to find the reason, and develops a method to keep it from happening in the future. There are a lot of woodworkers out there and they would all like to build your entryway, but exterior doors require skill and technology to keep them beautiful and fully functional despite the erratic weather conditions on the exterior and consistant temperature and humidity conditions on the interior. Not all woodworking skills, wood species, or adhesives are up to the task.

Christie's Wood and Glass is where all the details of art, design, technology, skill, knowledge, and experience culminate in a product that you will enjoy throughout your lifetime.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I love the door and window. Every time I drive up to our house, I have to pause and look at them. They made such a huge difference in how the house looks, and feels. In the late afternoon, the sun hits the copper design on the door, and reflects the sun onto the stucco next to it. It is just beautiful! The Dutch door part works perfectly, too. When the weather was warmer last month, I would open the top part and let in fresh air without letting the dog out! The other night, we burned something in the kitchen, and sure enough, having the top part open helped to quickly disperse the smoke. Having a two-part door is everything I hoped it would be. Thank you so much!

The craftsmanship is outstanding, too. The ultimate compliment to the door is that four high school students independently have come up to me and said how beautiful the door is. That age is difficult to impress, and half the time they do not even notice things... But not so the door. They have all noticed it, and taken the time to mention it. And Greg and I comment on it to each other all the time. The wood, the copper, the design, the glass - - it could not be better.

And the glass in the window - - I am so glad we did that! It is not as noticeable to people, but it is to me. I love how the sun rays face one another. I know I am gushing, but I can’t help it. Everything worked out perfectly. Thanks so much! Thanks for all the time, the consultations, the beauty of what you create. I am so grateful.
