The Shop

Located south of Durango, in the Animas Airpark, Christie’s Wood and Glass is owned by Doug Christie, who has been designing and building custom entryways since 1978. He has lectured to Interior Design and Woodworking classes on subjects including stained glass technique, interior and exterior wood finishes, door and window construction, and the commissioning of custom work.   In 1982, he was a founding member of the Orange County Woodworkers Association in Orange County, California, and served on its Board of Directors for three years, his last year as President.

Keith.jpg (20330 bytes)

Keith Michal has been with the shop since 2000.  Keith is primarily responsible for rough milling and assembly of most projects.  He has a small farm and a large menagerie in a peaceful valley just outside of Durango.

AngelaBrandi.jpg (39466 bytes)      Angela Michal fell in with this bad crowd in 2002.  She's primarily responsible for directing our advertising and sales of outsourced products, but pitches in with a variety of office details.  Brandi Michal's responsibilities are essential for all of our well-being, as she regularly keeps the shop and showroom clean and presentable.

Since moving our shop to the Animas Airpark in May of 2003, we have latched on to some great craftsmen.  Armando Rodebaugh was formerly the Millwork Manager for Home Depot in Los Gatos, California.   And Pete Wilson's design and construction skills were formerly found in the world of guitar making!

Jeff.jpg (83466 bytes) Jeff Schnyder is ourt most recent addition.  Why he chose the mountains, after cooling his heels in Hawaii for the last 16 years, is beyond me!  Jeff and Doug have been friends since they were seven years old!
